Ingredients:

• Curd (Yogurt) – 2 cups
• Mango – 2, raw or ripe cut into small pieces
• Red Chillies -7
• Jeera – 1 tsp
• Grated Coconut – 1 cup
• Turmeric powder -1/2 tsp
• Salt – to taste
• Oil – 2 tbsp
• Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
• Methi seeds – 1 tsp
• Curry leaves – few

Method:

  1. Heat oil, put mustard seeds and methi seeds.
  2. Add the mango pieces and sufficient water, to cook the mango well.
  3. Add salt, turmeric powder and cook till the mango is done.
  4. Grind the coconut with the red chillies and jeera well.
  5. Add this to the mango.
  6. Add curd, mix it well and let the whole thing boil for 3 to 4 minutes.
  7. Add curry leaves in the end.
  8. Morukoottan is ready.
