Ingredients:
• 1 bunch – Spinach.
• 1/4 cup – green Gram Dal.
• 2 – small red chillies.
• 1/2 tsp – Mustard Seeds.
• 1/2 tsp – Black Gram Dal (or) 1/2 tsp – Cumin Seeds.
• 1 tbsp – oil.
• A Pinch of Asafoetida (hing).
• Salt to taste|
Method:
- Soak green-gram dal in water for 15 minutes.
- Wash the spinach leaves thoroughly. No need to chop the leaves.
- Pressure cook the dal and leaves for 10-15 minutes without water.
- Wait till the steam is released before opening the cooker.
- Mash the cooked dal and leaves.
- Add oil in a pan.
- When hot, add mustard seeds. Wait till it splutters, add black gram or cumin, red chillies and asafoetida.
- When brown, add it to the spinach.
- Add the required salt and serve.
