Ingredients:
• 250 g – potatoes.
• 2 tsp – Peanut paste.
• 2 tsp – til paste.
• 2 – 3 tsp – Tamarind pulp.
• 1 tsp – cumin seed.
• 2 – tej patta (bay leaf).
• 1 stick – cinnamon.
• 2 -4 – clove.
• 1 tsp – Red Chilli powder.
• 1 tsp – Turmeric powder.
• 1 tsp – Ginger paste.
• 1 tsp – Garlic paste.
• 4 tsp – oil.
• salt.
Method:
- Peel and cut the potatoes into cubes, wash and keep aside.
- Fry peanut and til separately, and grind them into a fine paste separately.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the potatoes till it becomes golden brown.
- In the same pan, add tej patta (bay leaf), garam masala (cinnamon and clove), cumin seeds and stir well.
- Add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and fry for a few minutes.
- Now add ground peanut, til paste and 1/2 cup of water and stir properly.
- Now add fried potatoes and stir well.
- Then add tamarind pulp and salt to taste. Stir till oil separates.
- Now add 1 cup of water. Cook it on low flame.
- Remove from fire and garnish with grated coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with puris or parathas.
