Ingredients:
• 4 – medium sized potatoes.
• 1 – medium finely chopped onions.
• 1 – medium Tomato finely chopped.
• Juice of half a lemon.
• 1/2 tsp – Red Chilli powder.
• 1/2 tsp – Chaat masala.
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder.
• 1/2 tsp – pepper powder.
• Salt to taste.
• Few – coriander leaves, finely chopped.
• oil for frying.
Method:
- Boil the potatoes in pressure cookers – whole. Do not cut them.
- Once boiled and cooled, peel them.
- Cut them in thick slices.
- Mix all the masala powders – red chilli powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, chaat masala and salt.
- Gently coat the potato slices on both sides with the powders. Take care they do not crumble, hence, cut them in thick slices.
- Smear a little oil on a tawa and heat it.
- Place the coated potato slices around it and fry it turns a golden brown both sides, flipping them occasionally.
- Once done, transfer on plate.
- Mix chopped onions, tomatoes and coriander leaves together. Add lemon juice and salt to it and give it all a good toss.
- Top each potato slice with the mixture.
- Enjoy these yummy potato coins as they are or with pulao and kichidi.
