Ingredients:

• 1/2 kg – Prawns (semi large)
• 1 tbsp – Tamarind juice
• Sugar to taste
• salt to taste
• To Pound:
• 5 dried chillies (soak in water)
• 4 fresh Red Chillies
• 1″ fresh Turmeric (Kunyit basah)
• 1/2″ shrimp paste (belacan)
• 10 Shallots

Method:

  1. Saute the pounded ingredients in low fire until fragrant.
  2. Add in prawns and combine with the sauce.
  3. Add in tamarind juice, salt and sugar to taste.
  4. Cook until prawns are done.
  5. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves or spring onions.
