Ingredients:

• A small round – Tamarind
• 2 tbsp – oil
• 1/2 tsp – mustard
• 1/2 cup – onion, finely chopped
• a few – Curry leaves
• 250 gm – shelled, cleaned Prawns
• 1/4 tsp- Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – chilli powder
• 1/4 tsp – pepper powder
• 250 gm – shelled and cleaned Prawns
• 1 tsp – salt
• 1/2 cup – grated Coconut

Method:

  1. Soak tamarind in water and extract the pulp.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan.
  3. Add mustard. When they crackle add onion and curry leaves.
  4. Fry till onions turn pink.
  5. Add prawn, salt and turmeric.
  6. Fry till prawns are cooked. Add chilli and pepper powder.
  7. After few seconds, add tamarind pulp. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  8. Add coconut and simmer till almost dry.
  9. Serve with steamed rice or chapatti.
