• 1 – big sized cabbage, chopped nicely
• 1 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – ginger-garlic paste
• 1 pinch – Cumin seeds
• 250 gm – prawns, shells removed and cleaned nicely
• 2-3 – Green chillies
• 2 tsp – Garam Masala
• Oil for frying (mustard oil is preferable)


  1. Marinate the prawns in turmeric powder, salt and ginger-garlic paste for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add the marinated prawns in it.
  3. The prawns should be cooked till they are soft.
  4. Remove the prawns and keep aside.
  5. The cabbage should be chopped finely.
  6. Heat oil in a container and add cumin seeds, garam masala and ginger-garlic paste.
  7. Add the cabbage and cook it in low flame for 15 minutes till the vegetable releases water and reduces in volume.
  8. Add turmeric powder and salt as per taste.
  9. Add the already cooked prawns to it and mix well with the help of a spatula.
  10. Add 1/2 cup of water to the mixture and cook for 5 minutes till the water dries up and the flavour of the prawns mixes well with the cabbage.
  11. Garnish with slit green chillies.
