Dum Aloo, a yummy Punjabi recipe is one of the best curry based recipe of Indian Food. It is made from fried baby potatoes and then cooked at slow flame. Follow these easy steps and learn how to make yummy Punjabi style Dum Aloo in just few easy to follow steps.

Ingredients:

– 250 gm baby potatoes
– 3 tomatoes
– 1 tablespoon cream
– 1 tablespoon butter
– Oil for frying
– Salt to taste

To Make Curry Paste

– 1/2 cup grated coconut
– 2 cloves
– 2 pieces of cinnamon
– 1 piece of Elachi
– 1 onion
– 1 small piece of ginger
– 10 pieces of garlic
– 2 red chilies
– 2 green chilies
– 2 tablespoon khoya (mava)
– 1/2 teaspoon poppy seeds
– 25 gm sing
– 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
– A pinch of sugar
– 1 tablespoon coriander leaves

How To Make?

1. Remove the peels of the potatoes and make holes using fork in them.
2. Now, add these baby potatoes in salt water for 1 hour.
3. After that, fry the baby potatoes in oil and keep it aside.
4. In a blender, add red chilies, ginger, garlic, grated coconut, garlic, sing, poppy seeds, green chilies, cloves, cinnamons and Elachi and grind it and make a powder of it.
5. Fill this masala in the fried potatoes.
6. Now, crush the tomatoes and make a puree from it.
7. In a frying pan, add butter and then add cumin seed to it, once the cumin seeds splutter add remaining grinded masala powder to it and cook it for 1-2 minutes.
8. Then add tomato puree, salt and water to it and again boil it for 4-5 minutes.
9. Now, add the fried baby potatoes to this gravy and cook it for 10-15 minutes at LOW heat flame until the gravy becomes thick.
10. Remove it from the heat and garnish it with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with chapatti or rice.
