Ingredients:

• Rice 1 cup
• Chilly powder 1 tsp
• Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
• Sugar 1 tsp
• Karipatha (curry leaves) – a few leaves
• Salt to taste
• Ground nut 2 tbsp
• Mustard Seeds 1/2 tsp
• Urd dal 1/2 tsp
• Oil 2 tbsp

Method:

  1. Add a tsp oil and salt to rice and cook with less water so, when rice is done the grains are separate.Keep aside.
  2. Heat remaining oil in a pressure pan.
  3. Crackle mustard seeds and fry urd dal.
  4. When half done, add groundnuts and fry till groundnut crackles. Turn off heat.
  5. Add turmeric, powder, chilly powder and karipatha (curry leaves).
  6. Add rice and sugar and mix well and serve.
