Ingredients:
• Bread slices – 6
• For the spread:
• Mint chutney – 6 tbsp
• Tomato ketchup – 6 tbsp
• For the batter:
• Chick pea flour – 2 cups
• Soda bicarbonate – 1 pinch
• Garlic paste – 2 tsp
• Red Chilli powder (optional) – 1 tsp
• Salt to taste
• Oil for frying
Method:
- Spread 1 tbsp of mint chutney on a slice of bread.
- Place another slice over it and spread 1 tbsp of tomato ketchup over it.
- Cover with a third slice.
- Cut the three layered sandwich into two triangles.
- You can trim the edges, if desired.
- Mix the ingredients for the batter in a bowl and add enough water to form a batter of coating consistency.
- Whisk the batter with the hand for 2-3 minutes to incorporate air into it.
- Heat oil in a kadhai (wok).
- Dip each triangle into the batter and deep fry till golden.
- Drain on a paper towel.
- Slice each triangle further into two.
