Ingredients:
• Tamarind – 1 big Amla sized
• Tomato – 1 big, sliced
• Dhaniya seeds- 1 tsp
• Jeera – 1 tsp
• Pepper – 1/2 tsp
• Red Chillies – 2 or 3
• Thoor dal – 1 to 1.5 tsp
• Ginger – 1 big piece
• Salt to taste
• Curry leaves and Cilantro
• Ghee to season Mustard Seeds
Method:
- Soak the ingredients except tamarind and tomato for 15 to 30 minutes and grind it.
- Meanwhile, boil 2 cups of water with tamarind, tomato and salt.
- After tomato is cooked add the ground ingredients along with some more water and let it boil for 15 minutes.
- After it is done, season mustard seeds with 1 tsp of ghee and add to the rasam.
- Garnish with curry leaves and cilantro.
