Ingredients:
• 2 cups – sooji (semolina)
• 1.5 cup – Ghee
• 1 tin sweetened condensed Milk
• 5 cups – water
• 15-20 almonds, sliced lengthwise
• 2 tbsp – Raisins
• A few strands of Saffron soaked in 1 tbsp. water
• Few sliced Almonds for decorating
Method:
- Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed wok or kadai.
- Fry the almonds and raisins until light brown in colour. Remove from ghee and set aside.
- Add semolina to the ghee and fry till light golden in colour.
- Add the soaked saffron, and 4 cups of water. Stir continuously. Reduce the flame; keep stirring until all the water is absorbed.
- Add the sweetened condensed milk. Keep stirring until you see a little ghee appearing on the sides of the kadai. Add the fried almonds and raisins.
- Spread the mixture onto a flat, greased plate. Decorate with sliced almonds.
- Cut into squares or diamond shapes.
