Ingredients:
• 450 g – spaghetti
• 1 – Onion
• 2 – Cloves Garlic
• 3 tbsp – Olive oil
• 6 – Tomatoes
• 1 tbsp – Brown sugar
• For Meat balls:
• 450 g – Meat
• 2 slices – white bread
• 1 – Onion
• 1 tbsp – Parsley
• 3/4 cup – cheese
• salt pepper to taste
Method:
- For the meat balls:
- Soak bread in water. Squeeze and add to meat with finely chopped onion, parsley and cheese.
- Make into balls and keep aside.
- For the sauce:
- Heat oil, add chopped onion, crushed garlic and cook till golden.
- Add blanched, pureed tomatoes, sugar, thyme, pepper and salt.
- Lower heat cover, add meat balls and cook gently for an hour.
- Meanwhile, cook spaghetti according to package instructions.
- Once the sauce is done, spoon over spaghetti and serve.
