Ingredients:

• 1 cup- moong dal (green gram) soaked overnight
• 1- Carrot
• 1 -large Onion
• 1 -capsicum
• 1- slice Cabbage
• 8-10 leaves- Spinach
• 6-7 -green chillies
• 1- piece Ginger
• salt
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric
• 1/2 cup -gram flour or Rice flour
• oil

Method:

  1. Soak dal overnight.
  2. Wash and clean in the morning.
  3. Add the green chilli and ginger.
  4. Grind to a paste either by hand or electric grinder.
  5. Chop all the vegetables finely.
  6. Chop spinach separately by hand.
  7. Add to batter.
  8. Add the flour, salt and turmeric.
  9. Heat oil till hot enough to fry.
  10. Take a tbsp of this oil and add to batter. Mix it.
  11. Drop bite-sized pakoras into hot oil.
  12. Deep-fry on medium till golden brown.
  13. Serve hot with tomato sauce or tamarind chutney.
