Ingredients:
• 2 cups – dried Channa
• 3 medium size – Onions
• 1 medium size – Potato
• 1 medium size – Tomato
• 1 tsp – Ginger and Garlic paste
• 5 to 6 – Green chillies
• 1/2 tsp – Garam Masala
• salt and chilli powder
Method:
- Soak the dried channa for about 4 to 5 hours ahead of time.
- Heat oil in a large non-stick pan, saute chopped onions and chillies until golden brown.
- Then, boil channa in the pressure cooker for 10 mins.
- Peel and cut raw potato into small pieces.
- Cut raw tomato into small pieces.
- Add cut potato, tomatoes and boiled channa to fried onion/chilli.
- Add 1 cup of water. Add salt and chilli powder to taste.
- Cover and let it cook on simmer for 10 mins (checking regularly for water levels).
- Once the dish is cooked to a thick gravy, sprinkle 2 to 3 tsps of garam masala powder and mix well.
