Ingredients:
• Channa dal – 4 tbsp
• Urad Dal – 1 tbsp
• Green chillies – 4-5
• Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
• Tamarind extract – 1/2 tsp
• Asafoetida (Hing) – 1/4 tsp
• Oil – 1 and 1/2 tsp
• Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
• Mustard Seeds – 1/4 tsp
• Curry leaves – 1 stalk
• salt to taste
• A pinch of Sugar
Method:
- Roast both the dals in 1/2 tsp of oil till light brown.
- Add chillies and asafoetida and roast for a 1-2 minutes.
- Mix with salt, sugar, tamarind extract, coriander leaves and grind it in a mixer with some water.
- Remove in a bowl.
- Make the seasoning with remaining oil, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves and add to the chutney.
