Ingredients:

• 1 kg – chicken, cut into medium size pieces
• 1 cup – water
• 2 small onions, sliced
• 2 whole Cardamoms
• 2 Cloves
• 1/2 inch – piece Cinnamon
• 2 to 3 tbsp – oil
• Salt to taste
• 1/4 tsp – Garam Masala powder
• 1/2 tsp – pepper powder
• Grind to a paste:
• 1 bunch of Coriander leaves
• 4 Green chillies
• 1 inch – piece Ginger
• 2 Cloves of Garlic

Method:

  1. Grind the ingredients for the paste and keep aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a non-stick wok.
  3. Add cardamom, cloves and cinnamon. Saute for 30 seconds.
  4. Add onions and stir-fry till golden brown.
  5. Add chicken and fry for 5 mins.
  6. Add the ground paste.
  7. Fry till masala leaves the sides of the wok and the oil floats on top.
  8. Add water and salt.
  9. Cook the chicken until it is tender and the gravy thickens.
  10. Add garam masala and pepper.
  11. Mix well. Serve hot.
