Ingredients:
• 2 cups – tur dal
• 1 big – Onions
• 1-2 – Tomatoes
• 1 – golf ball size, Tamarind
• 1 tsp – Ginger and Garlic paste
• 1 tsp – Turmeric
• 1 tsp -red chilli powder
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1 tsp – Jeera
• Curry leaves
• oil
• salt
Method:
- Boil tuvar dal and smash it well. | In a kadai, take 1 tbsp oil and add curry leaves and jeera. Add onion and mustard seeds. Fry the onion till brown.
- Add ginger and garlic paste. Fry for 1 minute.
- Add tomatoes. Fry till oil separates.
- Add turmeric and red chilli powder. Stir it well for 2 minutes.
- Add tamarind. Stir well.
- Add the smashed tuvar dal to the above mixture.
- Add salt to taste. Add water as per your requirement. Boil for 5 minutes.
