Ingredients:

• 75 gms. Walnut halves
• 6 tbsp. golden syrup
• 100 gms. soft margarine
• 100 gms. castor Sugar
• 100 gms. self raising flour
• 1 tsp. baking powder
• 2 large eggs

Method:

  1. Put the walnuts on the bottom of a greased microwave proof bowl and spoon the golden syrup over.
  2. Put remaining ingredients in a bowl and beat well.
  3. Spoon mixture over the walnuts and cook on high for 7 mins. until cake springs back when lightly pressed.
  4. Allow to stand for 3 mins. before turning out.
  5. Serve with vanilla or custard sauce.
