Ingredients:

• 2 cup – raw Rice
• 1 cup – thick Poha
• 1 cup – grated Coconut
• 1/2 cup – Jaggery powder
• 1 cup – Milk
• 2 tbsp – curds
• 1/2 tsp – salt
• 2 tbsp – Raisins
• 2 tbsp – cashew nuts, chopped
• 1/2 tsp – Cardamom powder

Method:

  1. Wash and soak rice in water for 2 hours. Soak poha for 15-20 mins.
  2. Drain the rice from water. Grind with poha, coconut and milk to a slightly coarse consistency, like idli batter.
  3. Add jaggery, salt and grind till jaggery is dissolved (do not add much water as the batter becomes thin when jaggery is added).
  4. Cover and leave to ferment over night.
  5. Next morning, mix in the raisins, cashewnuts and cardamom.
  6. Steam like idlis. Serve hot with melted ghee.
