Ingredients:

• 1 – big Onion
• 3 – Red Chillies
• 1 tsp – Jeera (cumin)
• 1tsp – rai (mustard)
• a pinch Hing
• a pinch Turmeric
• 1 tsp – Urad Dal
• 1 tsp – oil
• salt to taste

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Add hing, jeera, mustard seeds, red chillies, urad dal and turmeric.
  3. Wait till the mustard seeds splutter.
  4. Let it cool for a minute.
  5. Add this to the blender (mixie) and make a powder.
  6. To this, add raw onion pieces and salt and blend once again to make a coarse paste.
  7. This chutney is good with rice or roti.
