Ingredients:
• 1.5 pounds – Chicken
• 1 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 2 -onions, medium
• 1 tsp – Ginger
• 1 tsp – Garlic paste
• 1/2 tsp – Asafoetida
• 1 tbsp – chilli powder
• 1tbsp – Garam Masala
• 2 tbsp – oil
• 2 – onions, medium size
• 3/4 cup – Coconut dry
• 1 tsp – Poppy Seeds
Method:
- Clean, wash and cut chicken into medium sized pieces.
- Clean and cut one onion into thin long slices.
- In a frying pan, saute the onions till dark brown. Keep aside.
- Then roast the poppy seeds and dry coconut till it changes its colour.
- Grind together onion and coconut with water.
- Make a very fine paste of it. Keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and saute one finely cut onion till golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste. Fry for a min, add asafoetida, turmeric powder, chilli powder, 1 tsp garam masala powder.
- Saute for a min. Add chicken and 1 cup of water.
- When it starts boiling, cover it with the lid.
- When the chicken is 3/4th cooked, add salt and the paste in it.
- Cook till the chicken is done.
- Garnish it with coriander leaves.
