Ingredients:

• 5 to 6 – tomato, chopped
• 2 – green chillies, chopped
• 6 – Dates
• 1/2 tsp – panchforan
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• Salt
• 1/2 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 2 – dry chillies
• 1 – Bay Leaf
• 1/2 tbsp – oil
• 1/2 cup – water
• 1/3 cup – Jaggery

Method:

  1. In a frying pan, temper panchphoran and bay leaves together.
  2. Now add turmeric powder, salt, tomatoes, green chillies, dates, water and cook covered on a medium flame.
  3. Meanwhile, in a small frying pan fry the cumin seeds and dry chillies without oil for 5 mins. Powder it in a mixie.
  4. Now add jaggery to the boiling tomato-dates mixture and mix well.
  5. After 5 mins, add cumin seed powder to the chutney and mix well.
  6. Your chutney is ready to serve with roti or rice.
