Ingredients:

• 1 cup – Wheat sooji/rava
• 1/2 cup – finely chopped Onion
• 1 tsp – Hing
• 2 tbsp – grated Coconut (optional)
• 2 tsp – finely chopped Green chillies
• 2 tsp – finely chopped Ginger
• 2 tbsp – Curd
• salt to taste
• oil for frying

Method:

  1. Dry-roast the rava on medium flame until you get an aroma. Keep aside and allow the rava to cool.
  2. Mix all the other ingredients to prepare the batter (idli batter-like consistency). Add water if too thick.
  3. Keep the batter aside for 15 minutes.
  4. Heat a tawa, drizzle oil and spread the batter on it (about half inch thickness).
  5. Cover with a lid and cook for about 3 minutes.
  6. Turn the roti the other side and cook until light brown.
  7. Serve hot with chutney or garlic pickle.
