Ingredients:
• Brinjal – 4
• Toor Dal – 1/2 cup
• Split green gram – 1/4 cup
• Onions – 2 medium
• Tomatoes – 1 medium
• Tamarind extract – 1/2 cup
• Salt to taste
• Red Chillies – 5
• Coriander seeds – 2 tbsp
• Chana dal – 1 tbsp
• Urad Dal – 1 tbsp
• Cumin seeds – 2 tsp
Method:
- In a pressure cooker, mix everything except tamarind and cook with 3 cups of water.
- Let it cool.
- Powder coriander, chana dal and urad dal.
- Add salt and mash well.
- Add the ground powder and tamarind juice.
- Bring it to boil and then simmer.
- Splutter mustard in 3 tsps oil and add cumin seeds, urad dal, 2 red chillies crushed with fingers, curry leaves.
- Pour this seasoning into the mixture in the pan.
