Modak is an Indian sweet usually made on the holy festival Ganesh Chaturthi in the form of Prasad of Lord Ganesh. You can find many types of modaks available in the market: steamed modak, chocolate modak, fried modak and many more. Today I am sharing a mawa modak recipe which is made from Khoya, sugar and cardamom powder which makes it more delicious and yummy. Celebrate your Ganesh Chaturthi with this Mawa Modak Recipe.
Ingredients:
– 400 gm Khoya (Mawa)
– 2 cups Sugar
– 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
– 1 cup condensed milk
– 2 tablespoon kesar (saffron) diluted in milk
– Modak mould
How To Make?
1. Take a deep frying pan and add khoya and sugar and let it cook for 20 minutes on LOW heat. Stirring continuously till all the sugar dissolved in the khoya.
2. Now add condensed milk and kesar to the mixture and continue to cook, stirring in between until the mixture becomes thick.
3. Now, add cardamom powder to the mixture and mix it well. When the mixture becomes thick remove it from the heat and keep it aside to let it cool.
4. Now divide the mixture in small dough and place it into the modak mould to give the perfect shape of the modak. (You can also give a round shape to your dough and make a modak)
5. Repeat this procedure for whole mixture. Once it’s done its ready to serve.
