Ingredients:
• 5 bread slices
• 2 small boiled Potatoes
• 1 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1 tbsp – Coriander leaves (finely chopped)
• 2 to 3 tbsp – water
• oil for deep frying
• salt to taste
• For the Batter:
• 2 cups – gram flour
• pinch cooking soda
• 1.5 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• sufficient water to make the batter
• salt to taste
Method:
- For the Gram Flour Batter:
- In a bowl mix together gram flour, cooking soda, salt and red chilli powder.
- Add sufficient water and a little thick batter.
- For the Pakodas:
- Mash or grate the boiled potatoes.
- Add red chilli powder, coriander leaves and salt. Mix well.
- Cut each bread slice diagonally into two.
- Apply little of the potato mixture on each piece of the bread slice and dab little water on top of it.
- Dip the piece in the gram flour batter and deep fry on a medium flame till golden.
- Serve hot with mango pickle or green chutney.
