Ingredients:

• 5 bread slices
• 2 small boiled Potatoes
• 1 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1 tbsp – Coriander leaves (finely chopped)
• 2 to 3 tbsp – water
• oil for deep frying
• salt to taste
• For the Batter:
• 2 cups – gram flour
• pinch cooking soda
• 1.5 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• sufficient water to make the batter
• salt to taste

Method:

  1. For the Gram Flour Batter:
  2. In a bowl mix together gram flour, cooking soda, salt and red chilli powder.
  3. Add sufficient water and a little thick batter.
  4. For the Pakodas:
  5. Mash or grate the boiled potatoes.
  6. Add red chilli powder, coriander leaves and salt. Mix well.
  7. Cut each bread slice diagonally into two.
  8. Apply little of the potato mixture on each piece of the bread slice and dab little water on top of it.
  9. Dip the piece in the gram flour batter and deep fry on a medium flame till golden.
  10. Serve hot with mango pickle or green chutney.
