
Ingredients:
• 1 cup – Rice
• 1 cup – moong dal
• 2 – Green chillies
• 1 – small Ginger (chopped)
• 3 – pepper Corns
• 1 pinch – Turmeric powder
• 1/2 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 2 tbsp – grated Coconut
• Sprig of Curry leaves
• 1/2 – Lime
• 1 tbsp – grated Carrots (optional)
• Salt to taste.
Method:
- Wash moong dal and rice thoroughly.
- Heat oil in pan. Add mustard seeds and 1/2 tsp jeera and pepper corns.
- After it splutters, add curry leaves and chopped green chillies and ginger. Add the rice and moong dal and fry for 2 minutes.
- Add turmeric powder and salt. Pour warm water and bring to a boil. Cook on low flame. Keep stirring, to prevent it from sticking to bottom. When the rice is cooked add lime juice. Remove from flame.
- Garnish with coconut gratings and carrot gratings. Serve hot with papads.
