
Ingredients:
• 1 cup – all-purpose flour/ Maida
• 1/4 cup – vegetable oil
• 1/2 cup – boiling water
• 1/2 cup – Milk
• 1 tsp – baking soda
• 1 tsp – baking powder
• 1 tsp – vanilla extract
• 1/2 cup – curd/yogurt
• 1/2 tsp – salt
• 3 tbsp – cocoa powder
• 1 cup – Brown sugar
• For Butter Cream frosting:
• 1/2 cup – unsalted Butter
• 2/3 cup – cocoa powder
• 2 cup – icing Sugar
• 1/4 cup – Milk
• 1/2 tsp – vanilla essence
• 1/4 cup – chocolate shavings
Method:
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
- Grease and dust an 8 inch round pan.
- Mix together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- Add curd, milk, oil and vanilla to the flour mixture and beat until well incorporated.
- Add the boiling water and beat until well combined.
- The batter will be thin. Pour it into the greased and dusted cake pan.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the cake when a tooth pick inserted comes out clean.
- For frosting:
- Melt butter.
- Sift the cocoa powder into the butter and mix well.
- Add the vanilla essence and mix well.
- Frost the cake with this and chocolate shavings.
