Ingredients:

• 1 cup – all-purpose flour/ Maida
• 1/4 cup – vegetable oil
• 1/2 cup – boiling water
• 1/2 cup – Milk
• 1 tsp – baking soda
• 1 tsp – baking powder
• 1 tsp – vanilla extract
• 1/2 cup – curd/yogurt
• 1/2 tsp – salt
• 3 tbsp – cocoa powder
• 1 cup – Brown sugar
• For Butter Cream frosting:
• 1/2 cup – unsalted Butter
• 2/3 cup – cocoa powder
• 2 cup – icing Sugar
• 1/4 cup – Milk
• 1/2 tsp – vanilla essence
• 1/4 cup – chocolate shavings

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
  2. Grease and dust an 8 inch round pan.
  3. Mix together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  4. Add curd, milk, oil and vanilla to the flour mixture and beat until well incorporated.
  5. Add the boiling water and beat until well combined.
  6. The batter will be thin. Pour it into the greased and dusted cake pan.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the cake when a tooth pick inserted comes out clean.
  9. For frosting:
  10. Melt butter.
  11. Sift the cocoa powder into the butter and mix well.
  12. Add the vanilla essence and mix well.
  13. Frost the cake with this and chocolate shavings.
