1 liter milk
50 gm rice
100 gm sugar
1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
4-5 strand of saffron (soaked in 1teaspoon of milk)
1 tablespoon almonds and pistachios, shredded
1. Soak rice in water for four to five hours, if possible overnight. Drain rice and grind with enough water to make a thick and smooth paste.
2. Bring milk to boil in a heavy bottom pan. Reduce heat to low and stir continuously. When milk starts to thicken, add sugar and the paste of rice
3. Now stir for another 5-7 minutes and add cardamom powder, saffron and mix well.
4. Sprinkle with almonds and pistachios. Serve hot or cold.
