Ingredients:

• 1 cup – moong dal
• 2 cups – water
• For seasoning:
• 1 inch – Ginger
• 1 – Garlic
• 1 – green or Red Chilli
• 1/2 tsp – mustard
• 1/2 tsp – Jeera
• 1 tsp – oil
• Curry leaves

Method:

  1. In a pressure cooker, boil 1 cup of moong dal with 2 cups of water.
  2. In a kadai, heat oil and put mustard, jeera, chilli, crushed ginger, crushed garlic and curry leaves.
  3. Fry this season until the mustard splutter and becomes light brown colour.
  4. Add this seasoning to boiled dal.
  5. Add salt and turmeric powder to the dal.
  6. Serve with rice or chapattis.
