
Ingredients:
• 500 g – Mutton
• 100 g – Channa dal
• 1 – Onion finely chopped
• 1 tsp – Ginger Garlic paste
• For garam masala:
• 3-4 – Cloves
• 1 stick – Cinnamon
• 2-2 – Cardamom pods
• 1/2tsp – khuskhus
• salt as per taste
Method:
- Boil the channa dal in a cooker for one whistle such that it retains its shape(half boiled), and keep it aside.
- Cut the mutton to bite-size pieces and wash it and keep it aside.
- Make a paste of all the masalas.
- Now take a saucepan and put oil in it and fry onions and green chillies till they are light brown in colour.
- Add ginger garlic paste and garam masala paste to it, fry for 2-3 mins.
- Add mutton, salt, turmeric and stir on high heat for 3 mins, then simmer until all the water is gone and the mutton is tender.
- Now add water and pressure cook for 7 to 8 whistles.
- When the mutton is cooked, add the cooked channa dal to it and simmer it for 10 mins until heated through.
- Garnish it with coriander leaves.
- Goes well with hot rice .
