• 3 cups – Butter milk
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• Ginger- 1/4 inch
• 1-2 – Green chillies
• Coconut (dry or fresh)- a little piece
• Salt to taste
• Cilantro- few leaves


  1. Grind all the above ingredients into a paste and mix it with the buttermilk.
  2. Garnish the butter milk with cilantro leaves and season using mustard seeds, cumin and curry leaves. This does not require any boiling of the butter milk.
  3. Seasoning is done by using a tsp of oil in a pan. Put a few mustard seeds. Wait for them to splutter. Add cumin and curry leaves. This tastes delicious and takes only 5 mins.
