Plain steamed rice

Ingredients:
2 cup long grained rice or basmati rice
4 cups water
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)

Method:
1. Wash rice thoroughly with water and soak for 15 minutes.
2. Drain and keep aside.
3. Boil water in a pan and pour rice in it. Add salt. Cover and cook for 40-45 minutes or till the rice is tender.
4. Alternatively, steam cook rice in a rice cooker.
