Ingredients:

• 250 gm – Cucumber
• 1/2 cup – Channa dal
• Turmeric powder – a pinch
• 1/2 tsp – salt
• For Seasoning:
• 1 tsp – mustard
• 3/4 tsp – Urad Dal
• 1 tsp – oil
• For Grinding:
• 2 tbsp – Coconut grated
• 1 – Red Chilli
• 1 – tsp cumin
• 1 tsp – Rice

Method:

  1. Cook channa dal in pressure cooker till soft.
  2. Cut the cucumber into medium bite size pieces and cook in a heavy bottomed vessel.
  3. Add salt and turmeric powder and enough water.
  4. When done add cooked dhal.
  5. Meanwhile, grind the coconut gratings along with red chillies, cumin and rice to a paste.
  6. Add this to the cooked cucumber and mix well.
  7. Season it with mustard seeds, channa daal and curry leaves, serve.
