
Ingredients:
• 1 cup – Almond
• 1 liter – Milk
• ½ cup – basmati Rice
• 8 to 10 – Saffron strands
• ½ cup – Sugar
• 15 to 20 – almonds, peeled and cut long and fine
• 1 tsp – pistachio, slivered fine
Method:
- Soak the almonds in water, then remove the skin and make a paste.
- Boil the milk. Wash the rice and soak in ½ cup water.
- Mix the almond paste and rice in the boiling water and let it simmer on low heat. Keep stirring till it becomes thick.
- Mix the sugar and kesar in the milk and stir for a while.
- Decorate with almond and pistachio on top of the payasam and serve.
