Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup – whole moong dal
• 2 – Ginger
• 2 to 3 – Green chillies
• 1 large – Onion
• 1 to 2 tsp – curry powder
• Mustard Seeds
• Turmeric powder
• 2 – Tomatoes
Method:
- Boil moong dal with some turmeric powder in a pressure cooker and keep aside.
- Take two to three tsps. of oil in a frying pan and add mustard seeds.
- When the seeds splutter, add ginger, green chillies and onions, and fry until onions turn golden brown.
- Add 1 to 2 tsp of curry powder and fry for a minute or two.
- Now add the cooked moong dal, water, salt, tomato and let the mixture simmer for a couple of minutes.
- When the tomatoes are cooked turn off the heat.
- Garnish with coriander leaves. This dal tastes delicious with hot chappattis or rice.
