Ingredients:

• 2 – Pomfret
• 1 – Lemon
• 20 – Red Chillies
• 13 -14 – Cloves
• 4 – Cinnamon
• 10 – green Cardamoms
• 3 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 3 tsp – Black Peppercorns
• 2 pieces of Ginger
• 1 pod – Garlic
• 2 tsp – oil
• 2 – large chopped Onions
• 2 tsp – Sugar
• salt to taste

Method:

  1. Soak red chillies, cloves, cinnamon, green cardamoms, cumin seeds, black peppercorns, ginger and garlic in water overnight.
  2. Grind to a thick paste.
  3. Saute onions in 1 tsp oil on low flame till brown.
  4. Add sugar and add the sauteed onions to the prepared paste.
  5. The masala is now ready.
  6. Clean and cut fish, then stuff it with this paste.
  7. Sprinkle salt and lime juice.
  8. Refrigerate for an hour.
  9. Then shallow fry fish in 1 tsp oil for 7-8 minutes each side.
  10. Serve with fresh onion rings and lemon.
