
Ingredients:
• 6-8 slices – bread
• 2 cups – Sugar
• 1 cup – water
• Oil for deep frying
• Milk as required
• Crushed Cardamom (optional)
Method:
- Mash the bread (edges trimmed) with adequate milk to make a soft dough.
- Roll dough into balls by gently rolling a small portion between your palms.
- Deep fry the balls over medium heat. This will ensure cooking from inside out
- Meanwhile, make the sugar by heating the sugar and water.
- Add cardamom to enhance the flavour.
- Add the bread jamuns into the syrup and soak for a few hours.
- Bread jamuns can be served warm or cold.
