Ingredients:

• 6-8 slices – bread
• 2 cups – Sugar
• 1 cup – water
• Oil for deep frying
• Milk as required
• Crushed Cardamom (optional)

Method:

  1. Mash the bread (edges trimmed) with adequate milk to make a soft dough.
  2. Roll dough into balls by gently rolling a small portion between your palms.
  3. Deep fry the balls over medium heat. This will ensure cooking from inside out
  4. Meanwhile, make the sugar by heating the sugar and water.
  5. Add cardamom to enhance the flavour.
  6. Add the bread jamuns into the syrup and soak for a few hours.
  7. Bread jamuns can be served warm or cold.
