Ingredients:

• 1 cup – rava
• 2 cups – besan
• 4 cups – Sugar
• 1 cup – dry fruits like almonds, Cashewnuts (crushed)
• 2 tbsp – Ghee
• 2 tbsp – gond (gum)
• 2 tsp – Cardamom powder
• A few slivers of Almond for garnishing

Method:

  1. Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed pan and add rava, stir it till it is roasted.
  2. Add besan and roast it. Stir the mixture continuously on low flame.
  3. In a separate utensil, heat 2 tbsp of ghee.
  4. Fry gond in the ghee and crush it; add it to the dry fruit mix.
  5. Add this mix to rava besan mixture.
  6. In a saucepan take 3 cups of water and 4 cups of sugar.
  7. Boil till you get 1 tar chashni (1-string thread).
  8. Add the above mix in the sugar solution and stir continuously. Keep stirring continuously so that no lumps are formed.
  9. Remove to a plate and garnish with cardamom powder and almond slivers.
  10. Allow to cool and cut into diamond shapes.
