Ingredients:

• Mutton – 1 kg, cut into 4 cm cubes
• Onion – 1 cup, thinly sliced
• Garlic – 3 tbsp, chopped
• Mustard Seeds – 3 tbsp
• Vinegar – 50 ml
• Ginger – 1 tbsp, chopped
• Curry leaves – 1 sprig
• Green chillies – 4
• oil – 5 tbsp
• salt to taste
• chilli powder – 2 tsp
• Mint leaves – 2 tbsp
• Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
• Lime 1
• salt to taste

Method:

  1. Grind garlic, mustard, ginger, curry leaves and green chillies with vinegar to a paste.
  2. Rub this paste on mutton pieces with salt to taste.
  3. Keep covered in refrigerator overnight.
  4. Heat oil in a thick fry pan (preferably non-stick) and fry onion till light brown.
  5. Add mutton with the marinade.
  6. Cover and simmer till the mutton is cooked.
  7. Serve hot with rice or Chapattis.
