
Ingredients:
• 1 pound – shrimp
• 1 – onion, chopped
• 1 tbsp – garlic, finely chopped
• 5 or 6 – green chillies, chopped
• 4 tbsp – Tomato sauce or ketchup
• 4 tbsp – Soy sauce
• 1 tbsp – Vinegar
• A pinch of Chinese salt
• 2 tbsp – Vegetable oil
• 1 tbsp – Corn flour
• 1 – egg, beaten well
• Salt to taste
Method:
- Marinate the shrimp in tomato sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, Chinese salt and salt for 1 hour.
- Add corn flour to the beaten egg and make a fine mixture. (The mixture should not be very thick.)
- Remove shrimps from the marinade (reserve the marinade), shake off any excess, and dip it into the corn flour mixture.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and drop in the shrimp. Cook on medium heat till golden brown.
- In another pan, heat some oil and saute garlic, onion and chillies.
- Fry them till onion turns a little brown.
- Add the shrimp and the reserved marinated, and cook for 4-5 minutes.
- If the gravy is not enough, you can add some more tomato and soy sauce to the shrimp, but do not use water.
- Then cook for another 5 minutes in medium heat.
- Serve immediately with fried rice.
