Ingredients:

• 1 cup – Rice
• 5-6 tsp – thick Tamarind juice
• 4 tsp – oil
• 4 – Red Chillies
• 1 Channa dal
• 1/2 tsp Urad Dal
• 1/4 tsp Mustard Seeds
• 1/2 tsp Jeera
• 1/4 tsp Asafoetida
• 1/4 tsp Haldi
• few Curry leaves
• Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Cook the rice in such a way that each grain is separated.
  2. Soak channa dal in little water and keep aside.
  3. Add oil in a pan and heat it. Add red chillies, urad dal, mustard, jeera, asafoetida and keep heating till urad dal becomes brown.
  4. Then add curry leaves, channa dal, tamarind juice and some salt. Cook this for 3 minutes.
  5. Add the tamarind juice and others into the cooked rice. Mix well all the ingredients and serve with/without lemon pickle.
