Ingredients:

• Capsicum – 3
• Rice – 1 cup
• Onion – 1
• Mustard Seeds – for seasoning
• Asafoetida – a pinch
• Red Chillies – 6
• Cumin – 1/2 tsp –
• Coriander powder – 1/2 tsp
• Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
• Curry leaves – few
• Coriander leaves – a few
• Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Cut capsicum into medium sized pieces.
  2. Slice onion. Heat oil in a pressure pan.
  3. Add mustard seeds, red chillies, curry leaves and asafoetida for seasoning.
  4. When mustard seeds splutter, add cumin and coriander powder.
  5. Add onion and fry till light golden brown.
  6. Add capsicum, turmeric powder, salt and fry for 1-2 mins.
  7. Add rice and enough water
  8. When done, garnish with coriander leaves.
  9. Serve
