Ingredients:
• Toor Dal – 1 cup
• Green chillies – 2, slit
• Ghee or oil – 1 tbsp
• Garlic – 6 cloves, peeled
• Cumin seeds – 2 tsp, crushed
• Black pepper Corns – 1/2 tsp, crushed
• Curry leaves – 2 sprigs
• Salt to taste
• Lime juice – of 1/2 Lemon
Method:
- Pressure cook the dal with 2 cups of water for 10 mins. Let it stand for 15 mins
- Now mash the dal with a ladle.
- Add salt and water to get a thick pouring consistency. Boil it
- Remove and add lime juice.
- Heat ghee or oil in a small pan and saute the garlic until pink.
- Add the cumin, pepper and curry leaves to it.
- Fry for few seconds. Add this to the dal
- Serve hot with steamed rice or chapati.
