Ingredients:

• 1 cup – Dhania (whole)
• 1 cup – black gram dal
• 3/4 cup – Urad Dal
• 2 tsp – Jeera
• 2 pods – Garlic
• 20 – Red Chillies
• 1 tsp – Sugar
• 1 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 3/4 cup – Tamarind
• A fistful of Curry leaves
• Oil to fry
• Salt to taste

Method:

  1. In a kadai, put 1 tsp of oil and fry red chillies.
  2. When they turn maroon, remove and keep aside.
  3. Put one more tsp of oil in the kadai and fry dhania till the colour changes. Keep aside.
  4. Heat another tsp of oil and fry channa dal, urad dal, jeera, tamarind, and curry leaves for 10 minutes
  5. Add sugar, turmeric powder, garlic and salt.
  6. When all the ingredients are cool, grind them together to a coarse powder.
  7. This can be stored in an air tight container.
