Ingredients:

• 1.5 cups – Wheat flour
• 1 tbsp – Gram flour
• 2 tbsp – Oil
• 1/2 cup -Butter Milk
• 1 tsp – jeera/cumin seeds
• 2 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 2 green chillies,chopped
• 1 tsp Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp saunf/ani seeds
• chopped coriander
• salt to taste

Method:

  1. Mix wheat flour, gram flour, 1 tbsp oil, jeera, red chilli powder,turmeric & saunf. Knead a stiff dough with luke warm water. Shape this dough to a cylinderical shape & then cut it to about 10-11 inch long pieces.
  2. Steam these pieces in cooker for 15-20 min.
  3. Now these steamed dough pieces are called Gattey. Cut them to small pieces approx. 1 inch long.
  4. Now heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan, add jeera & green chillies & fry.
  5. Add butter milk & bring to a boil.
  6. Now add the small pieces of Gattey, heat for 3 mins. Then add chopped coriander.
  7. Your dish is ready to be served hot. This tasty Gattey Ki Bhaji with rotis/parathas serves four.
