Ingredients:
• 2 cups – whole green gram (soaked overnight)
• 1 cup – Urad Dal
• Salt to taste
• 1 – Onion ( finely chopped)
• 2 – Green chillies (chopped finely)
• 1 tsp – Ginger (chopped)
• 5 – Curry leaves (chopped)
• 3 tsp – Coriander leaves (finely chopped)
• 1 tsp – pepper Corns (crushed)
• 1/2 tsp – Fennel seed powder
• Oil for Deep Frying
Method:
- Soak the urad dal for an hour.
- Grind the whole green gram for a few minutes and then add the urad dal, and grind both into a coarse paste.
- Add salt, onion, green chillies, ginger pieces, curry leaves, peppercorns, fennel seed powder. Mix everything by hands.
- Heat oil in a thick-bottomed kadai.
- Make small balls from the batter and flatten these using fingers.
- Drop gently one by one to the medium hot oil.
- Deep Fried the vadas until they turn brown.
