Ingredients:
• 1 cup boiled Channa dal/Bengal gram
• 2 big green chillies, finely chopped
• 1 big onion, finely chopped
• 5 slices bread
• salt to taste
• 1 tsp chilli powder
• 1 tsp cumin powder
• oil for frying
Method:
- Dip each bread slice in water and squeeze well to drain away extra water (the idea is just to moisten the bread slices).
- Mix all the ingredients, except the oil with the soaked bread.
- Divide into small balls and shape into cutlets.
- Heat the oil in a shallow pan and shallow fry the cutlets a few at a time till golden brown on both sides.
- Serve with mint chutney or tomato sauce.
