Ingredients:

• Tur Dal – 1 cup
• Carrots – 1/2 cup (Sliced )
• Beans – 1/2 cup (Sliced )
• Cauliflower – 1/2 cup (chopped)
• Tomato – 2 (Medium-sized, chopped)
• Coriander leaves – A small bunch chopped
• Green chilli – 1 (chopped)
• Turmeric powder – A little
• Salt to taste
• Ghee or Oil – 3 tbsp
• Jeera – 2 tsp
• Dhania powder – 1.5 tsp
• Red Chilli powder – As required
• Curry leaves – A small bunch (chopped)
• Asafoetida powder – A little

Method:

  1. Wash the dal and the vegetables.
  2. Add the required amount of water and pressure cook all the ingredients from 1 to 9 and let it cool.
  3. In a pan, heat oil or ghee. Add jeera. Once it’s cooked, add the asafoetida powder, dhania powder, turmeric powder, salt, red chilli powder, and finally add the curry leaves.
  4. Add the cooked dal/veggies to this pan and cook it until you get a boil and remove from fire.
  5. Garnish this with fresh coriander and curry leaves.
  6. Serve hot with rice or roti and pickles.
